BREAKING: Edison CFO arrested

The Star-Ledger reports that Edison CFO Frank DeRosa was arrested on attempted theft charges today. DeRosa “was arrested this afternoon and charged with theft and attempted theft, both third-degree crimes, said James O’Neill, spokesman for the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.”

Young authors’ event planned in Metuchen

The Raconteur bookshop on Main Street, Metuchen, a popular local literary haven for residents of Metuchen and Edison alike, will host its first “Awesomesauce Teen Writery Festival Thing, Featuring a Skyped-In Celebrity,” at 7:30 pm on June 1st.
Sherwood Smith, an author of young adult fantasy novels, such as Crown Duel, will Skype in from California to read from her writing and answer attendees’ questions. The event will also feature several local young authors: John Melendez (15), Kathryn Sweatman (16), Emma Jacques (12), Whitney Xu (13), and Kayla Bashe (16), who organized the event.
